Two Generations.
One Family Farm.
The story of The Milk Bar starts in 1990 and continues with every bottle that leaves our farm today.
The Milk Bar is a family-run farm business located in the heart of County Donegal.
Our farming journey began in 1990 when our father purchased the farm. In 1997, he started milking just 30 cows. Through years of hard work, dedication, and a passion for producing quality food, the farm has grown to become a thriving dairy enterprise, now milking over 400 cows.
Today, the farm is run by our parents and two brothers, with all young stock reared on the farm for replacement dairy cows and beef production. Animal welfare, sustainability, and producing high-quality food remain at the heart of everything we do.

In September 2021, after returning home from university, I founded The Milk Bar with a vision of bringing fresh, locally produced milk directly from our farm to our community. We installed our own on-site pasteurisation facility and began bottling and selling our milk straight from the farm.
Our milk is non-homogenised and non-standardised, allowing it to remain as close to its natural state as possible. It is gently pasteurised for just 15 seconds to ensure safety while preserving its fresh taste and natural qualities.
For us, The Milk Bar is about more than just milk. It is about connecting people with the source of their food. We want our customers to experience where their milk comes from, to see our cows grazing on Donegal's lush green pastures, and to understand the care and dedication that goes into every bottle.
From fresh milk and homemade ice cream to educational farm visits and community events, we are proud to share our farming story and bring the best of our farm directly to your table.
